In order to keep up-to-date, Vehicle-Engineer’s European Editor attended the press days 6 and 7 March at the Geneva Motor Show, the press and VIP day of 21 March at the TechnoClassica Essen, the biggest classic car event with 2,500 cars on display, most of them for sale, and the annual reception with preceding press reception of CLEPA, the European association of automotive suppliers, on 27 March 2012.

Audi A4 launch; Coworth Park Hotel, Berkshire
Such was the significance of the introduction of Audi’s newest A4 that it was in fact the largest range the manufacturer had ever refreshed in one launch with more than 100 variations of the model available. Audi tells us that the A4 is in fact the longest running model in the company and has been around since the mid-90s, but the focus with this new model has been on reducing CO2, the company achieving an 11% reduction in emissions across the range.

The weather forecast was for gales and rain, heavy rain at times. It was of course the beginning of September in England, so anything was possible weather-wise, and we certainly had it all.
