Malaysia's Fairuz Fauzy placed first and second in the first two races of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport 2008 season in unrelenting rain and high winds at Holland's Zandvoort circuit.
Seventeen nations competed in identical all-new British-built, Ferrari-designed, 600bhp Ferrari V8-powered cars. France's Loic Duval scored equal 22 points with a third and first plus a fastest lap.
Fauzy started from fourth on the grid in the Sprint race and from pole in the Feature race in which he lost first due to a wheel nut problem during a mandatory pit stop.
Third overall was 18 year old New Zealand rookie Earl Bamber for his second and third placings. NZ scored 18 points ahead of Netherlands 11 and Australia 8.
Debut nations Korea and Monaco each scored points for surviving a crash riven Feature Race.
Michael Andretti's Team America rookie Charlie Kimball scored one point for fastest lap of the day. He crashed out of the feature race.
The next A1GP races will be at Chengdu in China on November 9 and at Malaysia's Sepang F1 circuit on November 23.
